Generally, they are! Captain Dennis Butz, owner of Butz Guide Service, has fished the Fox River and Bay of Green Bay all of his life. He knows that catching fish requires flexibility, depending on the fish species, wind, weather, and time of year. Captain Butz has state-of-the-art Lowrance electronics to help put you on top of fish and the fishing tackle to reel them in. In the rare instances when the fish aren’t biting, the day isn’t a waste. You still have a chance to be on the water with a great guy, learn fishing techniques to take back to your lake, and make memories to last a lifetime. It is not just about the fish! It is so much more.

The limit on walleyes differs, depending on the time of year and body of water. April is trophy fishing time on the Fox River. The limit is one walleye, and the walleye must be over 28 inches. After May 1, through summer and fall, the limit is five walleyes on the Bay of Green Bay and three walleyes on the Fox River and Lake Winnebago.

Kids love catching fish, and the Fox River is a special place where they can reel in a wide variety. On a day of fun fishing, kids can catch catfish, sheepshead, carp, and who knows what else? Maybe Mom and Dad get a couple of walleyes for supper, and the kids get the thrill of catching other fish.
